A new NOAA Weather Radio station is now broadcasting in southeast Alaska. KAD-96 (Manleyville) broadcasts on 162.500 MHz at 5 watts from the NWS office in Juneau, Alaska.

From the NWS Juneau office:
New weather radio transmitter near Manleyville

VHF Weather Radio broadcasts are now available in central Chatham Strait on 162.500 MHz. In partnership with the US Coast Guard 17th District, the National Weather Service is broadcasting weather information 24 hours a day from a new high level VHF-FM transmitter near Manleyville on eastern Baranof Island. Station KAD-96s broadcast coverage area extends from roughly Angoon to Kuiu Island, and perhaps as far east as Kupreanof Island.

Also, the proposed Michigan City, IN transmitter will be on the air soon, from a tower site near LaPorte, IN. The South Bend office will program the station and the power output will be 1000 W. The tower site will be referred to as “LaPorte, IN” rather than “Michigan City, IN” from this point forward on WeatherRadio.info.
