New station coming to Mullen, NE

Official word from the National Weather Service in North Platte (LBF) regarding the upcoming installation of a station in Mullen, Nebraska:

There is a NOAA Weather Radio station coming to Mullen soon! I just got
word last week that the transmitter and antenna will be installed by the
end of this week. Once they are installed, we will just have to wait on
the telephone lines to get hooked up. I’m hoping that will only take a
couple of weeks.

The station will broadcast on the frequency 162.425 MHz. This is coming
online just in time for the winter season.

I won’t be sure of the coverage area until it is up and running, but I’m
hoping it will range from near Hyannis to near Thedford and then from
Tryon to the North Loup River northwest of Brownlee. Of course, your
reception will be dependent on your location (i.e. in a valley or on a
hill).
